A book for a book, a story for a story
Give a book, get a story back.
BookSwap connects readers who want to trade books directly, one to one. Every swap comes with a note from the last reader: why they loved it, where they read it, what stuck with them.
“Left this one on a train once. Hope it finds you the way it found me.”
How it works
Three steps to your next read
01
Share your book
List the ones you're ready to pass along. Add a note about why it mattered to you.
02
Match with a reader
Browse readers nearby who have what you want, and want what you have.
03
Swap and pass it on
Meet up or mail it off. Read what they left inside before you pass it on again.

“I swapped a battered copy of a novel I’d read three times and got back one with someone else’s margin notes in it. Best trade I’ve made all year.”
